Average worldwide processing time for employment based green card applications is 1.43 years (Priority Date to GC approval).
In simple words, it takes 5.5 years to wrap up the 1 year GC demand for Indian applicants presuming there is no overflow from any other country GC visa quota.

I also assumed that there are 1000 Non-Perm cases for India alone, but changing it would not affect the results a lot.
Just imagine the demand that would have been in years 2000~2002 and thats a project for another er!

Also, this bill (as per my understanding) does not have to do anything with the illegal aliens and so should not rankle anyone. Also since Cornyn is the author, other conservatives (hopefully) will not have many issues with it and not many will argue about a bill that has to do with American Competitiveness.

The Last updated date for my I -485 application is showing as 8/24/2010 now.
What does that mean ?

Today i added my old H1B (2003) case to my portfolio..i saw LUD on it...LUD date is '14th july 2007'...not sure...14th july is saturday...but no surprise...i saw lot of people posted that their LUD was on weekends....Is it good indication? sorry if i am asking unnecessary question..

All my checks encashed yesterday. Though my present residence is in TX and I-140 approved by NSC in 2006, still my case didn't transfered to TSC. I'm July 02 filer.

It seems that the delay was cause by the USCIS itself. It should have made known to applicants where to "correctly" send the application such as if your I-140 was approved in TSC, send your application to TSC. What happened was a lot of applicants sent their application to NSC, but was transferred to TSC. This cause a big delay in Receipting.
My application was sent to the right Service Center. Therefore, I believe, this resulted to my Receipt Notices being received according to the USCIS Receipting Update.

Those that matter and can make a decision will ask just one question.
"If oldest priority date should be considered then what is the use of categories like EB1, EB2, EB3 etc." ? It is a weak argument to say that we are talking only about spillover visas here.
Why, indeed, should USCIS give spillover away to anyone? They could as well sell off the excess visas at a premium, can't they?

I thinks EB3 INDIA will move between 9/11/2001 to JAN 2004 , because after 9/11 probably few people applied for GreenCrd because of market condition, even h1b quotas are not used for 2002 and 2003, i applied for h1b on 2004 April , no surprise the quota available because of market condition.

If you are consulting and not getting bench period salary, try to be out of project for some time and ask him to pay for that period. According to H1B he supposed to pay the salary. Probably at that point he has to let you go.

I am seeing that reedandbamboo is considering for EB2 only. We have to include EB3 too for law-suit. I beleive that we will have more than 1000 people if we inlcude all categories.
I will give 200$( 100$ for me and 100 $ for my wife)
Ofcourse all categories are included...EB2/EB3, I/C/ROW...anyone who is unhappy with USCIS random processing and retrogression of the dates is welcome to join the fight.
Whoever thinks they are in: please send ur Name, Ph# and email ID to GCSTATUS or me.
We are not collectiong money yet..just a pledge. As soon as we hit the required # of pledges, then we start the money collection. This will ensure that it is not one those efforts that starts, but gets buried due to people not participating. If we do not have enough people interested to fund a lawsuit...we don't move forward....simple !!! The helpless situation we have been put into...has to be backed by numbers.
